Who loves a good smoothie recipe? I do, I do! I love them for a fast breakfast that I can grab and go! Because smoothies are easy to make, versatile, and taste great, there is a smoothie recipe for just about everyone. There are bariatric smoothies, green smoothies, dairy-free smoothies, high protein smoothies, smoothies for diabetics, fat burning smoothies, and low calorie smoothies to name just a few.
Smoothies are an intricate component of my bariatric diet. For weeks after my gastric bypass surgery my diet was restricted to liquids as I progressed to soft, pureed foods. Protein powder, fruit, spice, sweetener, fiber, ice and a blender were all that I needed to advance my mend and satisfy my tastebuds. And the smoothie habit has been with me ever since.
Do you love coffee in the morning? I do, I do! Do you love chocolate? I do, I do! So if you’re like me then try My Java Chunky Monkey Smoothie recipe and let me know what you think! Add it to your bariatric recipes collection because I’ll bet you’re going to love it, too!
My Java Chunky Monkey Smoothie Recipe

3/4 cup cold brewed organic coffee

It takes longer to drink this smoothie than it does to make it! Helpful Hint: I peel, slice, and freeze bananas in individual freezer bags to keep on hand for my smoothie recipes.
