Cheyanne is losing weight without bariatric surgery. Here’s how she dropped from 260 pounds to 175 pounds by making healthy lifestyle choices.

Growing up, Cheyanne Lent was like most kids. She had dreams and ambition. She played sports. But Cheyanne’s weight soared in high school despite being active. She ate a lot of processed convenience foods. And these poor food choices propelled Cheyenne’s weight to top out at 260 pounds in college.

Determined to Lose Weight without Bariatric Surgery

But it was not all that long after graduation that Cheyanne reached a turning point: She made the conscious decision to eat right and drop her excess weight. And three years later, Cheyanne’s maintained nearly a 100-pound weight loss without bariatric surgery. Today she pursues her dream of being an actress.

But Cheyenne Lent’s story doesn’t end there.

Cheyenne also inspires people to lose weight through her Living Fit and Fabulous in LA YouTube channel and Worth the Weight TV with Cheyanne Lent Facebook page. With an ear-to-ear smile, bright eyes, and high-spirited personality, Cheyanne may indeed make you one of the converted. You just might get motivated to lose weight without bariatric surgery.

Losing Weight without Bariatric Surgery

Many people would like to lose weight without bariatric surgery. Please tell us how you accomplished this.

First things first: You have to believe and trust in your pursuit and know this is possible The will and desire will be your first step, and the tenacity and determination will bring you through the rest of your lifelong journey.

To make this all possible, I had to put some concrete tools in my weight loss “tool belt.” For instance, when it came to food, I had to no longer put any processed food in my house. If it was in the cupboards, I was going to eat it. I chose many replacements for these items, such as using avocado instead of mayo or almond milk instead of cow’s milk.

I also stopped eating two hours before bedtime.

I made big changes – one at a time. I’d tackle one thing at a time – that was vital to my success. I would accomplish one thing and move on to the next. I also started doing fitness classes after work. I started taking weekly yoga, step, weight-lifting and spin classes. The team atmosphere kept me motivated and accountable to my efforts in health.

I also made sure I told at LEAST one person about my decision and dedication to losing weight without bariatric surgery. I needed one person I could open up to and share about my struggles and triumphs. I chose someone who would also help keep me accountable to my goals and lead me away from my self-destructive decisions. This person in my life was my incredible and amazing mother, Marianne Lent.

What lifestyle changes were the most difficult for you?

One of the hardest things to do has been learning portion sizes! I LOVE food and sometimes don’t know when to say “enough is enough.” I’ve worked around that though by getting smaller plate sizes and measuring out my food before I eat it.

I also have had to combat the bad habit of eating alone and telling myself that I can “always start tomorrow” on my health journey. I had to quit my “STINKIN’ THINKIN’! To this day, I still have to combat it!

Also, as I’ve gotten smaller, I’ve had the challenge of intensifying my workouts and always changing it up.

Change Eating Habits for Weight Loss

What you eat during the course of a day. What vitamins and supplements do you take?

I eat very well-balanced meals now! I eat NO processed foods or anything that has high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils! I try to stick to things that have less than five ingredients in it and eat as raw as possible.

I eat a lot of nuts like almonds, walnuts, cashews, fruits for example raspberries, apples, mangoes, pineapple. Veggies, for instance broccoli, mashed cauliflower, peas, and protein from lean protein such as turkey and chicken. I try to limit my meat to only two to three times a week. I used to have it daily!

A big part of my day-to-day healthy diet is eating every four to five hours and also replacing one of my meals daily with a protein smoothie. I stand behind an incredible company called Nature’s Sunshine – they were the FIRST company to ever encapsulate herbs over 40 years ago. I use all their supplements and protein shakes.

For my protein smoothies, I mix Nature’s Harvest which is completely VEGAN or Love & Peas protein powders with almond or coconut milk, almond butter, chia seeds, honey, and raspberries or bananas.

For supplements, I take a Super Supplement, Kelp for Iron, Vitamin D3, Ultra Therm metabolism booster, and a probiotic. I also do a monthly cleanse!

Getting Active to Lose Weight

Please talk about your exercise routine and activity level.

Since losing my weight, I’ve become an exercise enthusiast! I’ve always loved sports, but now I love doing all kinds of activity. I used to HATE running, but now I LOVE it. It’s a great stress reliever! I signed up for my first half marathon in June and ran it and felt amazing! I am going to sign up to do a triathlon next year. Since moving to California, I’ve taken up hiking as well. I love getting to exercise and connect with nature. Weekly, I walk or run five days for 3-6 miles and lift weights two to three days a week.

I LOVE the PINK Method exercise videos! EXCELLENT for women!

Self Acceptance at Any Size

What else helped you to be successful?

I had to truly learn to love myself at ANY size! I listen to these amazing CDs in my car by Marianne Williamson called the “Spiritual Keys to Weight Loss.” It really teaches you to heal the brokenness inside yourself to then see true, lasting change on the outside. It’s a great “pick me up” on my ride to work or around town. Her CDs help me keep focused!

I also have put up encouraging quotes, bible verses and phrases around my house, in my purse and even in my car to keep me uplifted and focused during the day.

Pay It Forward

What is your best piece of advice for losing weight without bariatric surgery?

To continue to stick with it even when it gets hard… especially when it gets hard! To remember that YOU ARE WORTH IT! We each only have ONE life and we don’t want to waste it by being in an unhealthy body we weren’t meant to live in. Put people and things around you that remind you of who you want to be and why you’re doing this.

Why do you inspire others in losing weight without bariatric surgery?

Social media has been such an awesome blessing for me to share my story and inspire others in their own journeys! When I first began to lose weight and post pictures on Facebook and see people I hadn’t seen in a while, I started to receive tons of e-mails, messages and texts begging my help to lose weight. I couldn’t believe that people wanted my help. I was honored to turn my TEST into a testimony! I began responding back to everyone and realized it soon was becoming a full-time job.

So, I decided to take my love for being in front of the camera and helping others in their health, and created my own YouTube Channel called, “Living Fit & Fabulous: Chey’s Way in LA.” I post up videos of myself exercising, making new recipes, trying new weight loss methods and many other things. Losing weight without bariatric surgery is possible!

I also have a Facebook page, Worth the Weight TV with Cheyanne Lent.

I even now Instagram recipes that I try out and make out. I love connecting with people on these websites and inspiring them to their own success!

Happy Endings

Well, Cheyanne, I am impressed with your huge accomplishment of losing weight without bariatric surgery. Beyond that, I am impressed with your dedication to help and inspire others to succeed as you have done. I want to thank you for being a fabulous role model for those who want to lose weight without bariatric surgery. I also thank you for some new ideas that I will use to keep myself motivated during times of temptation. I wish you continued success!
